Evernote Is So Friggin' Awesome!
In my previous post I hinted about how I utilize google docs to do my bidding. What I didn't know at the time was there was a an application available called Evernote and it's delicious. You can clip the web (modify these pages), jot down notes, keep record of my work regime, take notes in meetings, remind myself about things, have clean thumbnails of typography, keep a list of quotes to inspire one-self and much much more... in fact here is a nice list I belive was started by Tim Ferris at evernote.slinkset.com/.
Now, for a number of years I have been wanting an application to just plop notes into anytime they pop into my head, I.E. sample this break-beat @ 3:01-3:10, remember the milk, ect. But sadly, I couldn't find the right solution. I knew the app that would fullfill my dream would have to use the 'cloud' to sync my data, esp if I was planning a trip far-far-away. One of the reasons why I originally jumped on buying danomanion.com was for this purpose as-well-as to host a project for school. Ofcourse I could have spent hours of time trying to build an app, but why do that, it seems like a waste of time? I would think, "man... isn't there something I can just toss data into and have it everywhere?" Then one day I heard productivity guru Merlin Mann meantion it in a podcast I had playing in the background at work. I looked it up, saw the descrition of the product and went, "Eurika, this is what I am looking for!"
Although I had been using Google Docs for this past as an earlier attempt, it was flawed in ease of accesiblity. This is the best part of evernote, it works everywhere my iPod Touch, my iMac, my Laptop, or any internet connection, I can get and see or edit my data, easily.
Like any good piece of software, the thing just works!
